701.26 In this Division, payload capacity means the maximum zero fuel weight of an aeroplane set out in the type certificate issued in respect of the aeroplane less (a) the empty weight of the aeroplane; (b) the equipment necessary for the operation of the aeroplane; and (c) the operating load of the aeroplane, which includes the minimum flight crew.
