401.83 The holder of a pilot licence endorsed with a flight instructor rating — balloon may (a) authorize a trainee to conduct solo flight in a balloon; (b) conduct ground school instruction and dual flight instruction in respect of the endorsement of a pilot licence — balloon with a flight instructor rating — balloon; (c) conduct a flight test and recommend a trainee for (i) the issuance of a pilot licence — balloon, or (ii) the endorsement of a pilot licence — balloon with a flight instructor rating — balloon; (d) recommend a trainee for the endorsement of a type rating on the trainee’s pilot licence — balloon; (e) where the holder’s licence is endorsed with a night rating, (i) conduct dual flight instruction in respect of the endorsement of a night rating on a pilot licence — balloon, and (ii) recommend a trainee for the endorsement of a night rating on the trainee’s pilot licence — balloon; (f) endorse a trainee’s personal log in respect of methods of inflation; and (g) conduct dual flight instruction in respect of the issuance of a pilot licence — balloon.
