1000.24 (1) The Minister must calculate, for each private operator and air operator, the final amount of CO 2 emissions that that operator is required to offset for a given compliance period, rounded up to the nearest tonne, using the following formula: ( OR 1,c + OR 2,c + OR 3,c ) – ( ER 1,c + ER 2,c + ER 3,c ) where OR y , c is the amount of CO 2 emissions that the operator is required to offset for the given calendar year y (where y = 1 , 2 or 3 ) of the compliance period c , calculated in accordance with section 1000.22; and ER y , c is the emissions reduction claimed resulting from the use of CORSIA eligible fuels in the given calendar year y (where y = 1 , 2 or 3 ) of the compliance period c , calculated in accordance with section 1000.23. (2) If the amount of CO 2 emissions calculated in accordance with subsection (1) is a negative amount for a given compliance period, that amount cannot be used to reduce the private operator’s or air operator’s emissions-offsetting obligations for a subsequent compliance period.
